TRIPLE THREAT featuring DJ Ison is comprised of professional touring and studio musicians. They play music from Rock & Blues Rock greats such as Stevie Ray Vaughan, KWS, STP, Bonamassa, Clapton, Hendrix, the 3 Kings, Buddy Guy, ZZ Top, John Mayer Trio, Zeppelin, Black Crowes and more.
In 2019, after relocating from Southern CA to the Sierra foothill area of Amador County, DJ Ison began searching out the top players in the area to reform the group. The band began performing throughout the Motherlode area in the summer of 2021. Now with over 40+ dates per year, performing from Sacramento to Sonora, the band is on high demand and is currently booking dates for 2026 and beyond.
D.J. ISON - Guitar/Vocals - An LA Music Award-winning artist, DJ started performing at a very early age. He has since played on stages with many talented performers over his 45 year career, including members of Walter Trout, James Brown, The Chamber Brothers, Eric Burdon, Solomon Burke and many others as well as playing internationally. DJ has been compared to some of the top blues and guitar greats such as Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, and Steve Vai.
ROB BRANT - Drums - Has played on many stages throughout the west coast for over 30 years. He’s also had the opportunity to open for artists like Everclear, Eric Gales, and Matthew Sweet, experiences that helped shape his approach to live performance. Rob’s influences range from early hip hop to Steve Jordan, Wil Calhoun, Phil Collins and Carter Beauford. His playing style is serving the song and his bandmates through pocket, groove and dynamics.
TONY HOLT - Bassist - Hailing from Cleveland, Ohio where he began playing live at the age of 17, sharing the stage with Robert Lockwood Jr, Colin Dussault and many others. Tony has opened for Buddy Guy, Robben Ford, Valerie Wellington, and John Lee Hooker. After moving to California Tony landed a gig playing for Pinkie Rideau (Sacramento Blues Hall of Famer) and her band Blind Resistance for the next 5 years, after which he became a freelance bass player playing with some of the best bands that Sacramento area. His influences are Ron Blair of Tom Petty, Paul Denman of Sade, Gene Schwartz of Robert Lockwood Jr. While Tony enjoys playing all styles of music his passion is playing Driving Blues and Rock & Roll
